diaspora; noun.
1. a group of people who spread from one original country to other countries, or the act of spreading in this
2. the scattering of people from their original country to other places
The multi-cultural fabric of countries like the UK is defined by its constituent diasporas. diasporan-ism sets out to explore both this identity in itself and how, even as the children of diasporas, we relate to this reality.
The diasporic identity must navigate large physical and non-physical distances. This project hopes to own this distance through a collection of works by the diverse community of people who experience this separation.
